Hello and welcome to the tenth issue of "On the other side" With Bats and Jess

jesseboy000 and I

"came up with the idea to create a gallery folder within Progressive-Street

that showcases some of our personal favorites that are street photos a little off-kilter from the usual.

As you can see in our header image we give a brief wording of what we look for in these images we choose to add.

Of the images we choose, we wanted to share our thoughts of why and how they stand out,

why they are a little unique to the more traditional street captures. Why we like them a lot!

Jess and I will be taking turns issuing journals for progressive street

choosing a number of deviations from the "On the other side" Gallery to write about." [ Jess ]

don't expect big criticism on my part.  my English is cockeyed, weird and imaginative ...

and more, as you have discovered in these years of knowledge,

I am a person of few words, therefore you have to content yourself ;) (Wink)

Anyway, as always, I tried to create a story with pictures that I chose.

Maybe you will see it on the other side.

lemme see by jrockar

:iconjrockar:

lemme see is symbolic. It expresses exactly what we want to tell with this choice of images:

it removes the veils that hide a different reality from the one we see without looking carefully. . .

the focus on the hand (male) and the handkerchief, the use of black and white

and the female faces overshadowed by the glass take us on the other sidesome and who knows where. . .

bravo  jrockar

279 Bus Stop by cameraflou

:iconcameraflou:

cameraflou is not a street photographer but when he gives us his shots on reality,

he always manages to let us capture the essence of what he sees.

a simple scene: an old man  and two women (young and old) watch from opposite sides waiting for a bus,

as the title (279 Bus Stop) tells us and that in itself struck us:

which side will come? where are they going? are all three together?

the reality is moving around them, fixed on the other side in an eternal waiting. . .

3)

Red Bamboo by Blakk-mamba

:iconblakk-mamba:

I know, I like the pictures with  legs ;)  and I find this Red Bamboo really beautiful.

It is not only a perfect  graphic play, but even the secret passage that carries woman (that we don't see) toward solitude

a reflection of reality. . . on the other side with Blakk-mamba

4)

Batman on the make by djailledie

:icondjailledie:

and with Batman on the make  djailledie transports us into a beautiful movie action.

the perfect cut, the diagonal lines of the shadows. . .

we are free to imagine whatever we want

5)

Mobility by PatrickMonnier
:iconpatrickmonnier:

A parked bicycle and a man walking:  Mobility :) the rest is hidden from us with great wisdom.

the lights and shadows complement the feeling of uncertainty, instability that PatrickMonnier gives us.

6)

Boots by Jinnger
:iconjinnger:

With Boots by Jinnger we are immediately on the other side,

in an imaginary world populated by animals that use the yellow boots...

And I found it where it wasn't supposed to be

Right in front of me

Hello and Welcome to another issue of 'On the Other Side' a collaboration between Bats and I.

Batsceba and I came up with the idea to create a gallery folder within Progressive-Street that showcases some of our personal favorites that are street photos a little off-kilter from the usual. As you can see in our header image we give a brief wording of what we look for in these images we choose to add. Of the images we choose, we wanted to share our thoughts of why and how they stand out, why they are a little unique to the more traditional street captures.
Bats and I will be taking turns issuing journals for Progressive-Street choosing a number of deviations from the "On the other side" Gallery to write about.  Now keep in mind I am no great writer and my writings tend to be a bit random and off the top of my head. I simply type off the top of my head.
