As-Salāmu `Alaykum (السلام عليكم) Peace be upon you, Vittorio
I remember his hug. and his eyes full of the sorrow he had seen.
They will say anything and everything about him, but only those who have crossed him, will know that he had a good smell. and his candidness was unsettling.
September 29th, epitaph:
A homeward bound soldier
Was found
In the morning
Lying on the ground
To his friends he said
...He couldn't move
"Today I'm happy
But tomorrow I will be sad again
For things never change with me
I win a battle
But lose the war".
The homeward bound soldier
Looked up at the sky
And thought:
"I'd love ot have a cup of coffee
I miss the taste of coffee."
And when it started to rain
He prayed in vain
That he could feel again
the raindrops tickling his skin
Just heard them
For War has swallowed up
The colors in everything...
A homeward bound soldier
Was found
In the moonlight
Lying on the ground
His epitaph just read:
"Today I'm dead
But tomorrow, you'll see,
I'll be back again
To the cornfields
And the paths I used to walk
When I was just like you
A person just like you...

Perdersi in una lacustre amnesia,
perdersi in un profondo lago
affollato alle rive,
immergersi sotto il pelo dell'acqua
sentire addosso tutto il ricordo della placenta
riemergere
ed ecco, non più un uomo nel raggio di dieci miglia.
Solo lei,
distesa che ti attende
col suo corpo bronzeo
come scolpito nella giada.
Affrettarsi prima che anch'essa evapori,
dibattendo i denti e i muscoli,
contro il gelo dell'acqua che irrigidisce le membra
lottando per non annegare.
Salvarsi, giungere incontro a lei
e scoprire il suo sguardo
calamitante
e i suoi occhi
così profondi come vulcani e del colore del petrolio,
due laghi senza fondo ancora più temibili
e perire...
